WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: • Book your pets into boarding kennels unless you are hiring a house sitter. • Check out your security system/alarm with the service provider to ensure its in working condition. • Get your local electrician to connect some external lights to a timed system or leave some not all of them on. • Do not leave lights on in the house. • Leave curtains and blinds in the open position as they are during the day. • OR arrange for a neighbour to open and close in the evening. • Cancel all deliveries (newspapers etc) • Disconnect computers, router, TV, in case of power surges. • Lock all windows and doors. Ensure there are no keys in view of any potential intruders. • Switch on your security system.
