Craig De Necker of The Friendly Plant Landscaping company treated our Fourways Gardens Gardening Club to a visit to their 44 acre propagation farm in Muldersdrift, showered us with wonderful plant gifts and got their Farm Manager Louis to show us how to do our own plant cuttings.

You need: Stem of a plant not too near the top tender leaves. It should have some leaves at the top and 2 growth nodes below Growth hormone powder (available from your garden shop) Rich mixture of soil, compost, river sand and well composted horse manure Planting trays (or pots) (available from your garden shop) even egg boxes will do.

Method: Ensure to use a freshly cut stem, or one immersed in water immediately after cutting. Dip into growth hormone Plant in a mix of soil, compost, river sand and horse manure

Water daily at least once in the early morning
